Lovable pricing & credits, explained (2026)

Last verified 2026-08-10Estimates ±40%. We show the maths.

Short answer: Lovable Pro is $25/mo and includes 100 monthly credits, so a credit costs about $0.25. A message costs roughly 0.5–1.2 credits depending on how much work it asks for — call it 12 to 30 cents per prompt.

The free plan gives you 5 credits a day and caps out around 30 a month: enough to find out whether you like it, not enough to finish anything. A real app with accounts, payments and an admin screen lands in the hundreds of credits once you count the rounds you'll spend fixing what the first round produced.

Lovable plans

PlanPriceWhat you get
Free$05 credits per day, roughly 30 per month. Unused daily credits don't roll over.
Pro$25 per month100 monthly credits that roll over while the plan is active, plus the daily credit grant on top.
Business$50 per monthEverything in Pro, plus SSO and the team/workspace controls (as of Aug 2026).

Run dry mid-build and you can buy credits on the spot: roughly $15–30 per 50 credits depending on your tier (as of Aug 2026). That's a worse rate per credit than the subscription, which is precisely the moment most people reach for it.

How Lovable credits actually work

Lovable bills in credits, not messages. A tightly scoped prompt — one screen, one behaviour — costs around half a credit. A “redesign the dashboard and wire it to the database” prompt costs more than one. Complexity sets the price, not the length of what you typed (as of Aug 2026).

On paid plans, monthly credits roll over while your subscription is active, and you keep receiving daily credit grants alongside them. An idle month isn't wasted. A heavy weekend still empties the tank.

Anything your app does at runtime — Lovable Cloud, AI features — draws on a separate monthly Cloud credits grant rather than your build credits. If your app calls a model in production, budget for that line separately from the build.

The gotcha

Credits roll over on paid plans, but a complex prompt can eat over a credit per message. Refactors and redesigns burn fastest.

The trap isn't the price of a credit — it's how many credits a change costs once the app is big. Early prompts touch one screen. Later prompts touch five, and Lovable reasons across all of them before it writes a line.

Redesigns are the worst offenders. “Make it feel more premium” is a cheap sentence and an expensive instruction.

Scope every prompt to one screen or one behaviour and you'll cut your burn rate further than any plan change will.

Who Lovable is for

Non-technical founders and designers who want a good-looking working app without opening an editor. You pay a premium per unit of work for the smoothest on-ramp of the six.
