Lovable vs Bolt vs Replit vs v0
Four tools that turn a description into something you can click on, and four different ways of charging you for it. Each page below prices the same build on two of them: the units burned, the plan you would end up on, the cash, and the hours. Every figure is a range, because that is what an estimate is — and when two ranges overlap, the page says the two are too close to call rather than crowning one on a rounding error.
Some of these pairs are genuine alternatives. Some are not — v0 draws the screens people look at, while Replit hands you the whole workshop, and no amount of arithmetic makes those the same purchase. The pages say which is which.
The four, in one table
| Platform | What it counts | Entry plan | How you pay | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lovable | credits — Credits are prepaid units of work: you get a bundle each month and every prompt spends a slice of it. | Pro 100, $25/mo — 100 credits. | Whole months of a plan. No overage: when the allowance is gone you wait or move up a tier. | Paid monthly credits roll over but expire after two months, and free daily credits never roll over. |
| Bolt.new | tokens — Tokens are the chunks of text the AI reads and writes — roughly three-quarters of a word each. You get a bundle every month. | Pro 10M, $25/mo — 10M tokens. | Whole months of a plan. No overage: when the allowance is gone you wait or move up a tier. | Tokens are priced by how much work a request takes, and bug-fixing loops are the killer — people have burned 2M+ tokens in a day chasing one bug. |
| Replit Agent | dollars of credits — Credits here are counted in plain dollars: $1 of credit buys $1 of agent work. | Core, $25/mo — $25 of credits. | A monthly allowance, then usage added to the bill as it accrues. No wall, no brake. | You are charged for how hard the agent worked, so a request that looks simple can cost more than one that looks hard. |
| v0 by Vercel | dollars of credits — Credits here are counted in plain dollars: $1 of credit buys $1 of generated screens. | Plus, $30/mo — $30 of credits. | A monthly allowance, then usage added to the bill as it accrues. No wall, no brake. | Excellent at the screens people see, weaker at everything behind them — anything driven by data, accounts or rules tends to need extra rounds or a second tool. |
Six head-to-heads
The line under each is the reference build — SaaS dashboard, standard features, a normal amount of iteration — priced on both platforms and compared on plan spend, the cash you actually hand over.
How each one bills
One guide per platform: the published plans, what a prompt actually costs, where the money goes, and the gotcha nobody puts on the pricing page.
None of these is your app
Fair. The calculator takes the same numbers, lets you tick your own features and pick how badly you iterate, and prints the receipt for all six platforms rather than two.
